NAME: Yukio Okumura
CANON: Blue Exorcist
CANON POINT: Chapter 124
AGE: 16
BACKGROUND: wiki, manga-only
PERSONALITY:
Yukio is the responsible one. He's the one at the top of the class, the one who gets an academic scholarship to one of the best schools in the country, the one who manages to maintain his grades while also teaching exorcism classes. He's the serious, polite, independent, hardworking prodigy, the one who never gets in trouble and always stays on top of his responsibilities. (This is, of course, all in contrast with his delinquent, barely-finished-middle-school, constant screw up shonen hero twin brother, Rin, who Yukio actually massively envies and resents). He's friendly but distant with classmates and coworkers, projecting an air of independent maturity that results in his coworkers and students respecting him and his classmates thinking he's cool.
As you can probably guess, this means Yukio is the sort of person who's going to stress himself into an early grave.
It's not that he took the weight of the world on his shoulders so much as he was placed into a position of responsibility at a very early age due to the circumstances of his birth (he's one of the sons of Satan and he was raised by the top exorcist in the world). Because Yukio was able to see demons from birth, he was qualified to fight them from a very early age, and because Rin couldn't see demons and didn't know they were children of Satan, Yukio was forced to keep that massive part of his life from his twin brother. Add to that secrecy a strained relationship with an adoptive father who refused to answer basic questions like "why didn't you kill us at birth like you were supposed to", and Yukio has grown up independent and self-reliant to a fault. He tries to keep his emotions entirely under control, presenting a level, calmly smiling front no matter what he's actually feeling, which occasionally leads to apparently random outbursts of anger. He doesn't trust anyone enough to open up to them, he believes that no one can really understand another person (and by extension, no one can really help anyone else), and on some level he doesn't think other people can even really take care of themselves. He's the sort of person to come up with a convoluted and reckless plan and not tell anyone about it until after he's finished carrying it out (even if it includes steps like "shoot your brother in the face, betray everyone and join the evil faction, and then try to commit suicide, all in order to save the world").
Not that Yukio is entirely serious and responsible and stressed out and vicious all the time (just most of it). He's awkward around girls and doesn't really know how to respond to their frequent crushes on him, he blushes and stammers and flails around when he gets flustered, he sometimes goes to stupid extremes to (successfully) maintain his cool image. He likes having friends even if he doesn't know how to trust them, and in groups he's comfortable in he'll go along with silly ideas like posing in absurd ways for pictures or crossdressing to deal with a ghost. His competitive nature is just as likely to show itself in games with friends as it is in serious situations. He has a sense of humor, and likes reading comedy manga.
He just needs to learn to trust people more.
POWERS/ABILITIES:
immunity to demonic possession: sort of. Demons won't possess Yukio because he's just not suitable for it and would basically die instantly. This isn't an immunity to demonic influence, just a lack of being totally taken over.
fire immunity: Yukio recently (like, a couple days ago at his canonpoint) discovered he's immune to fire. While he can still feel heat from flames, those flames won't hurt him.
At his canonpoint one of his eyes is functioning as a window for Satan to see into the physical world, but I'm totally nerfing that (since Satan is an appable character).
INVENTORY:
Spare glasses (x2)
Armumahel Guns: a pair of specialized guns made by the Illuminati, they use the power of Armumahel the demonic Emperor of Emptiness to shoot black flames. These black flames exorcise demons by destroying their identity/sense of self. Humans who work closely with black flames develop memory disorders and issues with identity over a period of time, but Yukio's immunity to fire means he can use the guns without any issues.
MOONBLESSING: Cordis
